There are so many new viruses everyday now, we split them into catagories.

Trojan Horse: Named after the mythical geek beast, a trojan horse is software that appears harmless and helpful. But in reality, a trojan is a program that can open ports (see backdoor), mess with your computer settings, download other bad stuff.

Worm: A computer worm is something that is usually spread through email. These basically "worm" through your PC opening holes for hackers to get in.

Virus: A virus is a program that infects one program and then infects other programs as in it spreads all over.

Backdoor: Basically what is says, it opens the backdoor on your computer and lets those RATS into your computer.
